About Freedom Plot
Thank you for your interest in my little story. I don't like FAQ pages, so here's a cleverly worded page that isn't an FAQ but which hopefully answers your questions.
You can start reading using the menu at the top left, or check out the Episode Synopsis to remind yourself about what's happened so far.
What it's about
Freedom Plot is a story about a fictional town in Northern New Hampshire that touts itself as "the freest community in the world." They eschew force, except in self defense or for protection of another, and strive to maintain a peaceful existence as far away from the grope of governmental interference as possible.
As a small but growing city, "the Plot" (as residents call it) has started to attract the attention of various individuals and groups who think maybe they're a little too free.
How it's told
The story will feature an ensemble cast, and each chapter will rotate between the activities of different characters and how they relate to the Plot. You can get a flavor for some of the primary characters by reading the excerpts.
Please note that there will be obscene language and perhaps some situations that could be disturbing to some people. If you are likely to be annoyed, offended, sickened, discomfited, or otherwise perturbed by such things, then don't read it. One thing I can guarantee is that no people will have sex with animals in this story.
When you can read it
I will post new episodes each week on Thursday and announce them via my blog, Facebook, Twitter and Google+. Follow one of those for updates.
How long it will be
It's a novel. Different people have different definitions, but the low-end for a novel is about 50,000 words. I expect it to be at least that long.
Right now, I am planning 25 episodes, which is just under six months posting a chapter per week. I'm still fleshing out some of the later episodes — perhaps I'll add some more episodes as I finalize the story.
A note on fonts
Special thanks to Kevin of KCFonts for licensing his "Shotgun Wedding" font for use in the Freedom Plot logo and elsewhere. He has some great fonts available for personal and commercial use. Check them out.
The text of Freedom Plot is set in Muli, and headings are set using Numans. Both of these fonts are available for free from Google Web Fonts.
