Turn-Around Jumpers

Salvation Army “Turn-Around Jumpers” 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament this weekend

This weekend is the third annual Salvation Army “Turn-Around Jumpers” 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament at LeMoyne College. It’s a benefit tournament that supports the social services work of the Greater Syracuse Salvation Army Area Services, which helps more than 40,000 people per year. I wrote about last year’s tournament success and my own family connection to the eventhere.

This year, there is a new event added to the schedule: A “Syracuse University Legends” 3-on-3 game on Friday night, along with a slam dunk contest. Fromthe Tournament’s Facebook page:

We hope you can join us on Friday evening at Le Moyne for our first annual SU Legends 3 on 3 game. Mike Hopkins, Roosevelt Bouie, Adrian Autry, Lazarus Sims and Demetris Nichols have committed to play, and several other former SU stars will join them. Players will be on hand for an autograph session (we’re providing cards) from 6-6:45 pm, with the game starting around 7 pm. There is no charge for the event, but Red Kettle donations are encouraged. All are welcome, whether you are playing in the tournament or not.

So, if you live in the Syracuse area and are looking for a fun, family-friendly event tomorrow night, head over to LeMoyne’s Thomas J. Niland Athletic Complex.
