Solitude

Friends, come sit beside me that I may feel the mighty distance between us.

Woman that I bind around in thongs of passion, what ghastly gulf is that between thy heart and mine!

I walk where men walk and sit where men sit and between me and them there lies the Infinite.

Behind the inscrutable aura of personality I reign a King, a Caesar throned in a Sahara.

Benjamin De Casseres.
