SEO, SaaS & B2B
I create and optimize content across the customer journey from “high-funnel” topics that capture broad audience interest to in-depth guides and action-focused pages that drive conversions.

“If you’re looking for an editor and content manager, Curtis is GREAT. He can impeccably edit in line with an established brand/style guide, but always has recommendations for impactful improvements. His feedback is insightful and he has a rare ability to balance style/flow with impact/results, always keeping SEO in mind. Curtis is #1 on my list when I need an editor for any project. Highly recommended!”

Content Strategy
I develop content strategies for websites within a variety of industries and subjects, including retail (stores and D2c), B2B, SaaS, education, finance, medical, legal, and healthcare, among others.

“Curtis has been a Godsend; he has played a very important role in helping Signum to survive and grow… Curtis’s experience with website content and design and with site analytics and search-engine optimization have been an important resource for us. In the past few years, he has overhauled and re-written our entire website. I have been continually impressed by his confident and sensitive voice as the author of our website and outreach copy.”

Editorials & Essays
I occasionally write long-form pieces—in both peer-reviewed and opinion publications—on pop culture, current events, and other topics.

“Curtis is collaborative and brings creative, well-researched ideas to every project. He is my go-to person for constructive feedback on my own work. His edits are always meticulous, precise, thoughtful, and supportive.”

Ebook Production
I’ve produced for various purposes at different times. Click through for more information on each:
Project Gutenberg & Distributed Proofreaders
From about 2002-2008, I was heavily involved in public text preservation efforts with Project Gutenberg and the Distributed Proofreaders (username “caw”). Below are a few I’m particularly proud to have worked on.
A full list of the books I was involved in is available on this blog post.
Plucker Books
Before smartphones, “personal data assistants” (PDAs) like PalmPilot allowed people to download and read ebooks. Plucker was an open source reading app for PalmOS, and from about about 2001–2010, I co-owned a website that published free ebooks on Plucker. We produced close to 800 ebooks in Plucker format – a significant feat long before Kindle, iBooks, and other modern ebook vendors came along – and eventually sold the domain in 2010.

Podcasts & Panels
Mythgard Movie Club
From 2017-2019, I organized and hosted 16 panel discussions on various science fiction and fantasy films with the Mythgard Movie Club. Sessions were recorded and available on YouTube.
Kat & Curt’s TV Re-View
From May 2013 – February 2019, I co-hosted Kat & Curt’s TV Re-view, a podcast analyzing science fiction and fantasy television series on an episode-by-episode basis. All episodes are available on the usual podcasting platforms and via kctvreview.wordpress.com.
